Your old wooden window sills and casings have lasted for many decades. But they may have been subjected to some harsh conditions and may not be as pristine as they once were.
Sometimes your old wood may just need to be painted and caulked, which is a relatively easy fix. Other times, the sills, casings, jambs, and blind stops may be rotten and will need to be replaced.
To fix this problem, others will tack on, or splice in a superficial strip of inferior wood. This is a temporary fix that will need to be readdressed in short order.
We use the same wood that was used to originally build your house and connect our work deep into the existing structure of your house. We concentrate on making permanent repairs that will keep the weather from infiltrating your house for many years to come.
